Backstory of BingbingLi.com
Bingbingli.com is a fan site dedicated to the Chinese actress, Bingbing Li (”Li Bingbing” in Asia). The idea started interestingly enough while going to the movie theater where a large billboard of Bingbing Li was prominently displayed as part of four pictures for the Forbidden Kingdom movie. The owner of the site was instantly amazed by Bingbing Li’s beauty and decided to do more research only to discover that the domain was still available. What was shocking was the fact that despite the star power of both Jet Li and Jackie Chan this movie was receiving so little in the way of promotion.
This bothered the owner tremendously as Hollywood has had a history of downplaying Asian cinema. Why was this happening? And especially given the fact that this was Miss Li’s “debut” in America? With this fact in mind the owner decided to set up this website.

This site is owned by a private group who enjoys Asian films and wishes to see the advancement of Asians, Asian Americans, and other under-represented groups in Hollywood.
What is the mission of Bingbingli.com?
To those coming to the site for the first time please note: this is a fan site. It is not owned nor operated by anyone connected to Bingbing Li (Li Bingbing). The purpose of this site is to help (if possible) to promote awareness of Bingbing Li in the United States and abroad. If other groups — other bloggers wishing to promote Asians in cinema (and in Hollywood) — wish to link to the site, the gesture wil be greatly appeciated.
Regarding Blogrolls
Blogrolls are a great way to network with other like-minded websites and to help give each other a boost in Google PageRank. Right now this site is still in its infancy but we will be willing to help our fellow bloggers and websites on the Internet in a link exchange if the exchange: 1.) helps promote the public’s awareness of Bingbing Li and 2.) does NOT promote a person/group/entity that is generally considered abusive/destructive. Questionable groups and parties of any controversial nature will not be considered. Sorry.
