Interpreted Translation:
A picture, a picture can make one alarmed, it can be horrible to look at and fill one with shock and an inner feeing of helplessnes. In light of this disaster life seems so frail.
So far more than 100 hours have already passed and the challenges facing the rescue efforts seem to be getting larger and larger. On the television news it was reported a moment ago that conditions in the present disaster area prevents the arrival of sterilization drugs needed in the treatment and healing of epidemic diseases. The on-location reporter is updating the situation every minute and repeatedly stressing how urgently the medical drugs are needed, and in particular those needed for psychological treatment.
With the help of a cooperative group, a good friend has discussed what kinds of donations is most useful and which will have the most immediate impact, and has been making runs back and forth between the Chinese Poverty Relief Foundation and the drug manufacturers. What concerns me the most is the need to distribute drugs by the Qingdoa Yellow Seas Drug Manufacturer which at this time has useful drugs which cost only 300,000 Yuan. So far these drugs are the most scarce in the disaster area.
How can these urgently needed drugs be transported to the disaster area (especially with the massive amounts of donations that have been lined up in the last few days which are still awaiting transportation to the disaster area), especially to those obstructed areas where everybody considers as lost causes? Four drivers are curently divided into two groups working day and night leaving Sichuan through the unobstructed paths from Qingdoa. Each trip requires two days and nights and it is encouraging that our driver has already left this morning. At this time I can only wish them good luck, a smooth journey, and that they soon arrive at the disaster area.
In this time there are still reasons to be grateful. The relief groups have been in contact with the pharmaceutical industry since the second day. And through the Red Cross organization of China Jiangxi Branch they have already donated over 3,000,000 Yuan worth of drugs to the Sichuan disaster area.
We may not have the means of preventing or controlling the occurrence of natural disasters however we may have the ability to choose how we face them. At this time we may want to break down. But right now Chinese people need to be strong and unify to face this problem. Perhaps individually our strength is weak, but collectively our strength is tremendous. For the disaster relief everyone is trying their best, does everything possible and keeping strong by working together demonstrating this kind of firm faith, which should inspire us to be persistent in our efforts.
At this time I hope we all stay strong and do not think of giving up, there are still reasons to be hopeful.
